Our Seal, Their $8 Million Pull: How RhodyBreakers Hit the One-of-One Cooper Flagg

Every breaker knows the feeling of opening a pack on camera and hoping. This summer, the crew at RhodyBreakers got the hit the whole hobby was chasing: the one-of-one Cooper Flagg rookie debut patch autograph. A few weeks later it sold for $8.04 million, and when the photos and news segments went out, RhodyBreakers' custom Mag Seal and brand went out with them.

RhodyBreakers is a Coyote Stickers customer, and we couldn't be prouder. Here's the story.

The card everyone was chasing

Topps' new rookie debut patch cards take a patch from the jersey a player wore in his very first NBA game and turn it into a one-of-one autographed card. Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft and the 2025-26 Rookie of the Year, made his debut for the Dallas Mavericks on October 22, 2025. He signed his debut patch card at Fanatics Fest in July 2026, and it was packed out in 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Basketball.

From that moment it was the most wanted card in the hobby. The Mavericks even offered a bounty for it, led by two premium season tickets for 32 years.

A New England shop and its live stream

Baseball Cards of Rhode Island has been a card shop in North Kingstown since 1986, the kind of place where generations of collectors come in to buy, trade and chase grails. RhodyBreakers is the shop's live stream. Several nights a week the crew opens product on camera, and collectors from all over the country buy spots in the break, usually by team. Every card for your team is yours.

Breaks let collectors get into high-end product without buying whole boxes, and a good breaker builds a loyal following. RhodyBreakers has regulars tuning in from Arizona, California, Texas and South Carolina.

Just another break

One of those regulars is Jason Williams, a 50-year-old machinist from Clover, South Carolina, who has worked in machine shops since he was 19. He found RhodyBreakers on YouTube in 2020 and has been breaking with them ever since, usually on Monday, Wednesday or Friday nights.

On a Monday night in August, he bought the Mavericks spot in a three-box Topps Chrome Update break for $515. To him it was just another break. Then the debut patch redemption came up on camera, live, and it took him a few seconds of staring at the screen before it clicked.

He called the shop. Then he called his son with what he said was life-changing news, and the two of them ended up in tears together on FaceTime. Jason says he barely slept for four days. He still went back to work after taking just one day off, because people at his shop rely on him. From then on he carried the redemption card in his pocket everywhere, and once turned the truck around and drove home when he realized he'd left without it.

From the break to $8.04 million

The card was consigned to Fanatics Collect's September Premier Auction. On the final night, Topps cameras spent the day with Jason and his family in Clover. Rather than refresh the auction, he took the crew on a side-by-side ride through the woods to clear his head, while his family watched the bids climb past $6 million and kept going.

The auction closed at 3:35 in the morning on September 25, 2026, after 83 bids. The hammer price was $6.7 million, or $8.04 million with the buyer's premium: the most ever paid for a single-player basketball card.

Jason's take on all of it? The money is "easy come, easy go." What matters to him is the chance to slow down a little and experience more of life with his family. He also says the people who work with him will share in it.

Why the seal matters

When a card becomes news, it gets photographed, filmed and shared everywhere. RhodyBreakers' custom Mag Seal was part of that moment, so their name and brand were broadcast around the world right alongside the card.

That's what Mag Seals are for. Your seal folds over the top of the one-touch, front, spine and back, so every card you sell or pull leaves with your brand on it. Most nights it's a nice finishing touch. On the night you hit the one, it's your name in front of millions of people.

Every break is a shot at the one. Make sure your name is on it.

Congratulations to Jason and his family, and to the whole RhodyBreakers crew at Baseball Cards of Rhode Island. We're proud to have our seal on your pull.
